2006 Racing Season Shows SGE Back in the Record Books!

SGE got off to a late start in the 2006 racing season, due to the high volume of work in our shop. Once we hit the track, the SGE Racecar's Dodge Daytona was the #1 Qualifier at every race attended. We also set two national records in one week and finally cracked the 7-second barrier at Atco, where fellow competitors put up cash to have the SGE car torn down for cheating. NHRA Div 1 tech staff found nothing illegal.

SGE Racecars and I would like to thank everyone who helped out this year including, but not limited to: Richard and Rob Latter, Jerry Hatch, Wayne Dennison and family, Kent Depoy, Elliot Smith, Ross Lawrence, Patterson Racing Engines, Jericho Performance Engines, and of course, my family Shannon, Elizabeth, and Jacob.

2006 Racing Season Results
Scott Gove Breaks Into the 7-Second Zone October 26, 2006 At Atco Raceway Test & Tune, Scott ran 7.976, followed by 7.977 - both at over 171 mph. The SGE car was the first Super Stock car with carbs and V-8 in the 7-second zone. On the 27th, Scott also reset SGE's own record to 8.01 at 171 mph after just one week.
Scott Resets SS/AM Record October 21, 2006 Scott ran 8.07 at 170 mph at Maple Grove Raceway, resetting the SS/AM Record to 8.09 at 168 mph.
Scott Makes Fastest Pass in IHRA Super Stock History September 26, 2006 At the IHRA President's Cup Nationals at Maryland International Raceway, Scott Gove took the #1 qualifying position with an 8.06 second pass. Then in the first round eliminations, blasted to 8.002 - the fastest pass in IHRA Super Stock history.
Scott Takes #1 Qualifier Spot in Epping September 08, 2006 In the IHRA North American Nationals at Epping, New Hampshire, Scott Gove took the #1 qualifier spot with 8.100. Cylinder head problems caused Scott to sit out the rest of the race.
	Special Congrats to Earl Holt August 2006 Congratulations to Earl Holt's hard-earned class win at the MacTools U.S. Nationals at Indy. SGE put together a new engine combo and some chassis dyno work, which gave Earl the winning edge.
2005 Racing Season Results
Scott Gove Runs 8.14 at 166 MPH at Atco In testing on October 20, 2005 at Atco Raceway, Scott Gove ran an astounding 8.14 at 166 MPH. The "sevens" are getting closer. That's the fastest pass in SS/AM history.
SGE Awarded Best Engineered Car Award On October 15, 2005, Scott Gove Engineering was awarded the Best Engineered Car Award at the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic.
Results from Epping N.H. IHRA North American Nationals Scott Gove was #1 Qualifier at the Epping New Hampshire IHRA North American Nationals on September 9, 2005. Scott also set the IHRA SuperStock National record in SS/AM at the same race. ----- Congratulations to Rob Latter of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on winning SuperRod driving brother Richard Latter's SGE-prepared '69 Camaro. Rob drove the Camaro for the first time ever and won the whole event! Astounding!!! ----- Congratulations also go to Chip Taylor from Maine for winning QuickRod.
Congratulations Earl Holt Earl set the national record in H/FI stock at 12.34 seconds at 106.99 mph on April 16, 2005 at the Sony/PC Richards.com National Open Race at Maple Grove Raceway. Good job, Earl!
SGE is Back in the Record Books On April 9, 2005 at the Sony/PC Richards.com National Open Race at Atco Raceway, Scott re-set the SS/AM record to 8.29 seconds at 164.08 mph and he was just tuning a new combination. A special thanks to Jerry Hatch, Jason Harkins, and the rest of the crew. Also thanks to Joe Sway for providing an excellent track surface as always.
